In a night celebrating the best of international tourism, Portugal once again stood out, collecting 31 awards at the 2024 European edition of the 2024 World Travel Awards, held in Berlin. Lisbon and Porto were also recognized as destinations of excellence. Lisbon earned the title of “Best Urban Destination in Europe,” and Porto was elected the “Best Coastal Metropolitan Destination in Europe,” showcasing the rich culture, history, and natural beauty of these cities. In an event dedicated to business tourism, the MICE Awards (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), Lisbon stood out as the preferred destination for the business tourism and congress segment.

Portugal also excelled in the categories of attractions and tourism projects. At the 2024 World Travel Awards, the Passadiços do Paiva were awarded as the “Best Adventure Tourism Attraction,” and the Dark Sky Alqueva not only won the title of “Best Tourist Attraction” but was also recognized in the “Responsible Tourism” category.
