According to the last study disclosed by the European Commission for travel, the country has registered an impressive increase of about 79% on the number of arrivals of tourists coming from the United States. In the first trimester of 2023, according to data from Turismo de Portugal, the number of North-american passengers disembarked has increased by 64,7%. There was also an increase of about 107% on overnight stays at tourist accommodations, when compared to the same period last year. Mosteiro dos Jerónimos, another place visited by tourists from all over the world, is also getting more and more North-american visitors.
Portugal’s popularity amongst American tourists may be attributed to a variety of attraction factors.
