The best and warmest season of the year is almost over, but that doesn’t mean that we don’t have the motivation to go out and get to know the country even more at the end of Summer/beginning of Autumn. After two years without fairs and festivals, we can say they came back in style this year. Harvest Festival – Palmela
Since September is the month to harvest grapes for the production of wines, the city of Palmela, located in the centre of the country, has a festival dedicated to this event! White Night – Braga

Feiras Novas – Ponte de Lima
Feiras Novas, the last great annual fair of the Alto Minho, are the maximum exponent of the exaltation of a world of colours, being considered the biggest live ethnographic manifestation in Portugal.
The festivities in honour of Nossa Senhora das Dores have always been happy and gathering fair. Initially, it was essentially religious, but with time it transformed into a fair, with pageants and other ludic activities. They elevate popular culture through folklore, accordion-like traditional instruments called concertinas and singing challenges. It sure is an excellent opportunity to enjoy Portugal in September! Nazaré Festival
The Nazaré Festival happens annually to commemorate the miracle of Our Lady of Nazaré – which, on the 16th of September 1182, saved a knight from a mortal fall from the top of the Nazaré promontory. Initially, it was a religious festival, but it doesn’t make it less important for the region. This year the festival will happen from the 7th to the 18th of September, in the Parque Atlântico (Sítio, Nazaré), with music, gastronomy and lots of fun activities. Get to know more in this link.
